Friday morning 07.00
Dad is in the shower geting ready for work and mum is on the blog. I listen to classical music and get som sleep in the big bed. I really relax when I listen to this cd "baby classic music" and sleep for another hour! But I get the feeling that mum is on the way to pick me up and change me, put on some nice clothes and get me ready for a day in Alice!
My space!
Isabellas own little space in the big cot. Perfectly close to mummy so sleeping in the night doesn't feel lonely. Nappychange per night/ about 4, eating per night/ every 3-4 hour. Mum kan see/hear when Isabella moves around and kicks and makes the poop/pee noise so it's easy and quick to change her before she even wakes up. The same with feeding, not much screaming is neccesary for Isabella to make her message go through!

Moby Wrap
We are on the way to the community health center for the weekly check up on Isabella. I'm wearing a Moby Wrap a sling in stretch that follows the babys body and they feel secure and loves to snuggel up to mothers chest! I great item for mothers to be, can be used for babies up at least 1 year in diffrent carrying positions. Another sling is called Hug a Bub.
Isabella weigh now 3480 kg and is 53 cm long (grown 3 cm in 2 weeks), head 34 cm (grown 1 cm). She is alert and not to upset when undressed and put on a scale. She is breastfeeding every 2-3 hour in the day and every 4 hour at night. Lots of diapers...... Breastfeeding starts to feel better now! Patients..... I have lost almost all pregnacyweight already just 5 kg to go.....I think it's a bit to quick I forget to eat so S is now making delicous meals every day which I dig into!
His daddy leave is soon up, 3 weeks has passed so quick and we have had lots of support with eachother. Wonder how it will be when he starts to work on monday?! Isabella will for sure miss her daddy in the day, but they can make up for it in the evening instead.

Bathtime!
Favourite time of the day...the relaxation evening bath with daddy!
We fill up the bath with extra water and extra warm water (according to midwifes instructions the other day). Let Isabella slowly into the water holding the head (of course) and let her kick around with arms and legs. We started this two nights ago because she gets angry in the evening time and hard to settle but in the bath she put on a smile and almost fall into sleep. No soap in the water and let her stay as long as she feel comfortable. It's great to see how much she likes it!
If we had a bigger bath I would jump into it too!!!!
Happy in the pram.
Isabella is happy when we take her out in the pram.
Two weeks has now passed and we have done it! Every day gets a little bit easier and I and S work as a good team. When we need some time off the other one steps in! Breastfeeding gets better but is still not painfree.....just to keep it up I've heard and one day it will be sooooo easy! Look forward to that day! We already started with some signlanguage and I am sure the first two she picks up will be "change" and "milk". "Bath" probably comes as third.
Her neckmuscles are getting stronger as her kicks, arm movement and today she got tears in her eyes when she cried.....it makes your heart bump much quicker!!!
It's amazing to see the changes in her.

Fantastic aftercare at the maternity ward!
After the birth S and I got an own room, S stayed for free as long as he wanted. We picked food from a meny 3 times a day and on top of that got served te, coffe, cokies 3 times a day. People come and clean your room daily and make your bed. Specialist doctors and nurses pay a visit. Lactation specialist and the midwife for the day comes into the room regulary to ask and give information about breastfeeding. Show movies on breastfeeding and caring for babies and caring for mothers!!!. Give painrelief and advice on everything from insurance to immunisation. Homevisit as many days as you want. We stayed for 5 days in the hospital and got one homevisit from the hospital and on friday the community nurse comes by to weigh Isabella and give us more information about weekly visits to the healthclinic. At the health clinic they run classes about, babymassage, sleeping, settling a screaming baby mm. No appointment is needed just to show up!
Shark attack!
Breastfeeding is painfull! After 11 days of feeding Isabella it's still not the most harmonised time of the day and night....but I will continue thanks to my breastpump that let one side rest at a time. Though Isabella loves it and cudle up next to me with a smile on her face! After every feed she goes into rem sleep and all her facial expressions shows and they are just geourgeous!!!
Midwife from hell!
Finally the phone is connected again after 2 weeks!
Don't read this if you are pregnant: I had my worst case delivery come true! Here comes my birthstory:
2 July I woke up at 05.00 with "periodpain" in my back, played card game son the computer untill 10.00. Woke up S to tell him we need a cleaning day today because the baby is probably on the way in a few days...?! S went to bye some breakfast. 11.00 I called the hospital the contractions was now less then 5 minutes apart and 60 sec long, very painful. They said to come in for a checkup. S took the bags and off we went. I wasn't sure it all really started so we left the babybag in the car! After the checkup they asked if I wanted to stay and I said yes...went into the bath which was nice at the moment. Got some gas which didn't take away the pain but made me a little sleepy between contractions. First midwife was really nice, warm hands gentle talk and encouragement. When her shift was over at 15.00 a new midwife took over....(the one from hell!!!!). I had asked for epidural since my arrival at the hospital. S and I where both not into the"natural" way of giving birth I wanted EPIDURAL and made sure everyone in my room got the message! Midwife 2 made an internal control now I was 6 cm open. Good then give me an epidural now! no no no....lest invasive first: she "forced" me into diffrent postitions that I didn't want to like: into the bath again, up walking, sitting on toilet, side in bed, back in bed, kneeling in bed, up walking again, peeing, pooing (though nothing came out), birth stool .......the list can be long! I continued to ask for my epidural, so far only gas and now it didn't even help.
After a long discussion she gave in on giving med petidin which had no effect on the pain!!!! I said please dont delay my wich for epidural I know I need it before I am 8 cm open. The midwife said I need to do another internal look and of course now I was opend 9 cm!!!! The time is now 20.00. No epidural! Push downwards when you feel like pooping. I said what do you mean? Where is my painrelief????? A few seconds later I got the worst contractions I could even imagine.....I became a animal and screamed like a injured lion!!!! I stopped breathing of pain!!!
Every 2 minutes the contractions came and I screamed tried to push all I had downwards. The midwife still had refused me painrelief. I had nothing to take away the pain, my worst case cenario! The midwife promised me the baby would be out in 5 minutes, but the 5 minutes turn to 30, then 60, then 1,5 hour then 2 hours, no movement of the baby but extreme pain every 2 minutes! The midwife gets upset and say stop screaming and push! I am pushing I said polite!? Then her shift was over 21.30 and midwife 3 comes in. I tell her this is not working give me vacum, forceps, cecarian and a epidural, now! Well she to had to to an internal check which lasted for 1 hour still with my contractions...... the head obstetrician walks by my room and wonder whats going on! He comes in and I see my only chance tot ell him to help the baby out! He do an internal check and in 5 minutes he tell the midwife to make me ready for operation theater! Yes!!!!
I felt like going from burning hell to heaven. I will never forget the feeling in the operation room when I finally get my spinal block and can relax! Baby came out with forceps after a vacum didn't work. The doctor said her head was stuck and I would never be able to push her out!!!
I got a beautiful girl with a smile on my lips!!!!! Isabella got 10 on apgar score and was never in distress during all those hours of pushing which is incredible!!!
We both got back to the room and I got lots of help because of my 3 degree tear. S was in a chock after seeing me in such pain so he went home. I understand him, I have seen me on tape.....
So "natural" birth with no painrelief is not to recomend, specially if you push for 3 hours with no result!!!
Anyway I thank the obstetrician for me and Isabellas life, that he happends to walk pass my delivery room, sunday at 22.00, arrived in the op 23.00 and she was born 23.45! I had a debrief talk to him and he is not happy with midwife 2, that didnt even contact a doctor!
